1. Supreme Court Dismisses Perjury Suit Filed Against Buhari
The suit of perjury filed against President Muhammadu Buhari over his claims on form 001 he submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in the February 23, the presidential election has been dismissed by the Supreme court today.
It also established, agreed and held that the petition was a pre-election matter and, also unarguable filed outside the 14 days provided by law and, so status-barred.
2. Xenophobia: 3 Feared Dead As South Africans Burn Nigerian Shops, Destroy Properties

The Minister of Justice was spotted going to see President Buhari in company with the Chief of Staff to the President, Mr Abba Kyari.

Following the legal suit filed against the Senate, the hallowed chamber has described the action against its plan to buy official cars for members as an effort in futility.
Adedayo Adeyeye, the spokesperson for Senate, stated this while speaking on Channels Television on Sunday night.

The Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Osogbo, Osun State, has nullified the election of Bamidele Salam, representing Ede Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
Naija News reports that Salam, who represents Ede Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, was sacked by the tribunal on Monday, September 2.
6. FG Shuts Lagos-Ibadan Expressway For Repairs, Announces Diversion
Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) on Sunday released a new diversion after the closure of the busy Lagos-Ibadan expressway for maintenance repairs.

10. $40m Jewellery Beyond Diezani’s Income – EFCC
Following the recent recovery of 2,149 pieces of jewellery and a customised gold iPhone, valued at $40m, recovered from the Abuja home of a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Monday urged the Federal High Court in Lagos to order the permanent forfeiture of the items.
EFCC in an affidavit deposed by Rufai Zaki, an investigator, the commission insisted that the items recovered were beyond Diezani’s “known and provable lawful income.”
