1. House Of Reps Order CBN To Suspend Cashless Policy
The 9th House of Representatives has ordered the Central Bank of Nigeria to suspend its plan on the cashless policy.
Recall that Naija News had reported that CBN ordered the implementation of a new phase of its cashless policy which will see Nigerians charged for certain categories of deposits and withdrawals.
2. President Buhari Leaves Nigeria On Sunday For UN General Assembly In The US
President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to leave Nigeria this weekend for the United States, to participate in the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA74).
Naija News learnt that the travel plans of the President were made known by Tolu Ogunlesi, his Special Assistant on Digitial and New Media via his verified Twitter handle.
3. Nigeria Seeks Another $2.5bn World Bank Loan
Nigeria has approached the World Bank for a $2.5 billion concessionary loan, Hafez Ghanem, World Bank’s vice-president for Africa has disclosed.
Speaking during an interview on Wednesday in Abuja, Ghanem disclosed the international financial institution is still in talks with the Nigerian government for the loan.
4. Ekiti: PDP Attacks Fayemi For Appointing Dismissed Judge As SIEC Head
The Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi has been attacked by the Peoples Democratic Party in the state for appointing a dismissed Justice Jide Aladejana as the chairman of Ekiti State Independent Electoral Commission.
The opposition party claimed that the appointment has created a burden on the electoral body.

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has met with the Board of Trustees (BoT) members of the party over the ruling of the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal (PEPT).
The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) had last Wednesday dismissed the petition of the PDP and its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku.
8. $9.6Billion: Court Orders Closure Of P&ID Operations In Nigeria
The Process and Industrial Development (P&ID) has lost all its assets to the federal government of Nigeria after pleading guilty to an 11-count charge filed by the anti-graft agency, EFCC.
Naija News also learnt the court also ordered the closure of the Irish company’s operations in Nigeria.

The Leader of the Senate, Yahaya Abdullahi has condemned the public outcry over the decision of the upper legislative chamber to spend N5.5bn on cars.
In his submission during an interview with journalists in his office in Abuja on Wednesday, the Senate Leader said it was insulting for the public to condemn its decision to spend money on the purchase of cars.
10. Presidency Reacts To Claims That Buhari Is Sidelining Osinbajo In Governance
Claims that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo had been sidelined following President Muhammadu Buhari’s decision to replace the Economic Management Team (EMT) with an Economic Advisory Team (EAC) has been dismissed by the presidency.
While the EMT was headed by Osinbajo, the newly constituted EAC will report directly to President Buhari.
