Boko Haram: Security Forces Detect Location Of Aid Workers

A special force comprising operatives of intelligence service and the military have detected the location of missing aid workers after they were attacked by members of Boko Haram.

Naija News understands that the humanitarian aid workers were attached to the Action Against Hunger (AAH).

A statement by the AAH had disclosed that its members were attacked by terrorists while heading to Damasak.

The organisation disclosed that two drivers and three health workers are still missing after the attack by Boko Haram.

The statement read in part: “One of the drivers was killed, while one Action Against Hunger staff member, two of the drivers and three health workers are missing.

“We are deeply saddened by this tragic incident as these are colleagues dedicated to providing life-saving assistance to individuals and families affected by the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the northeast of Nigeria.”

An intelligence operative told PRNigeria that the operation of special force is being directly coordinated by Maj.-Gen. Bulama Biu, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 7 Division of the Nigerian Army.

It was also gathered that some informants who were divulging information to Boko Haram terrorists in the axis were arrested.

The source said: “The special force was able to detect the location of the humanitarian aid workers after some arrests were made.

“You may recall that the terrorists had attacked the convoy of the humanitarian workers last Thursday (July 18, 2019) at Damasak, headquarters of the Mobbar local government area on their way to provide life-saving assistance to individuals and families, affected by the humanitarian crisis.

“Unfortunately the driver named Kashim Ritam was killed while his vehicle with registration No MAG 981 AA was damaged at Zari village less than 20 kilometres from Damasak town. Some of the missing staff are Grace Taku, Ali Kayiri, Ali A Mustapha, Ali Gaya, Mallam Nuhu, Mohammed Abba Gana.”
