1. CBN Rolls Out 5-Year Agenda

The Central Bank of Nigeria has unveiled a five-year term agenda on Monday.

Naija News understands that the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele hinted that the Apex bank will pursue the recapitalisation of commercial banks in the next five years.

2. INEC Server: Presidential Election Tribunal Gives Ruling On Atiku’s Petition

After much ado, the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal today declined the application by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar to inspect smart card readers and the server for the February 23 presidential election.

Delivering ruling on the application, the five-member panel of justices unanimously dismissed the application.

3. Court Orders Arrest Of Innosson CEO, Innocent Chukwuma

A bench warrant has been issued by a Federal High Court in Lagos, for the arrest of Innosson Nigeria Ltd CEO, Innocent Chukwuma, before the court.

The warrant was issued by Justice Ayokunle Faji on Monday for the arrest of Chukwuma and two others.

“Abba Kyari Must Go” protest, which is seeking the removal of the Chief of Staff to the President is currently rocking Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

The President Muhammadu Buhari led-federal government on Monday inaugurated the Board of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Atiku and the PDP are challenging the declaration of President Buhari as the winner of the election by the Indepndent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Imo State chapter of the Action Alliance has withdrawn its election petition against the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate, Governor Emeka Ihedioha.

The governorship candidate of the party in the 2019 general election, Uche Nwosu has reacted to his party’s withdrawal.

8. Religious Bill: Focus On Insecurity – CAN Tells El-Rufai

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has told Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State to shift his attention from seeking to control preaching in the state to tackle insecurity.

The religious body made this known to newsmen after holding a meeting over the controversial “Religious Bill”.

9. Troops Rescue 42 Women, 51 Men, Two Children From Boko Haram Captivity

The Nigerian Army said its troops have rescued 42 women, 51 men and two children used by Boko Haram terrorists as labourer on farm in different clearance operations in Borno.

Col. Sagir Musa, the Acting Director Army Public Relations, in a statement, disclosed that three terrorists were neutralized in the operation.

10. Femi Gbajabiamila Speaks On Being Tinubu’s Puppet

Femi Gbajabiamila, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, has spoken on the news making round that he is a puppet of the National leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu.

Gbajabiamila who represents the Surulere I constituency of Lagos State while speaking at a reception dinner organised for him by the state government described the report as “ridiculous”.
