Ganduje Vs Sanusi – Fayemi, Dangote Tries To Wade Into Crisis

Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi and Kano-indigene Alhaji Aliko Dangote have waded into the crisis between Governor Abdullai Ganduje and Emir of Kano Muhammad Sanusi II.

This comes after several efforts towards mediating between the two failed to halt the plan to dethrone Sanusi.

Naija News recalls that Ganduje already queried emir Sanusi over the alleged N3.4bn fraud giving him less than 48 hours ultimatum to respond. The action follows recommendations by Kano anti-graft Corruption Commission.

The Commission recommended the suspension of Sanusi over misappropriation of N3.4 billion by the Emirate Council between 2014 and 2017, adding that others who were indicted be properly dealt with as well.

The recommendation was contained in an interim report of an investigation conducted by the commission and signed by its chairman, Mr Muhuyi Magaji. A copy of the report was made available to newsmen in Kano on Tuesday.

On the latest peace mission, spokesperson of Governor Ganduje, Abba Anwar confirmed that Africa’s richest man, Dangote and the chairman of Nigeria’s Governors’ Forum Dr Kayode Fayemi have started a peace move.

Naija News recalls that that Police had issued a ban on any form of assemblies, protests, and demonstrations in the state.

Anwar said both leaders (Fayemi and Dangote) met Friday night in Abuja.

“The two leaders met, they congratulated each other for the successful completion of the Month of Ramadhan and the Sallah festive period,” Anwar said.

“Emir Sanusi seized the opportunity to congratulate governor Ganduje for the victory in his second term in office. Wishing the governor to have a successful tenure in office from 2019 to 2023”.

Meanwhile, Abba said there wasn’t any moment President Muhammadu Buhari intervened or engaged the two figures to resolve their differences, as against speculations in some quarters.
