US President Donald Trump has nominated a former ambassador and Arizona businesswoman, Barbara Barrett to lead the Air Force.
Naija News understands that united states president revealed that he has settled on Barrett as the service’s 25th secretary in a tweet on Tuesday afternoon, shortly after the conclusion of a farewell ceremony for departing Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson.
Wilson is expected to leave the Air Force at the end of the month to be the next president of the University of Texas at El Paso.

Wilson said in a tweet after the announcement that Barrett was a “Wonderful choice by the President!”

Sen. Martha McSally, R-Arizona, applauded Barrett’s choice in a news release Tuesday and said she had urged Trump to choose her, particularly during a May 17 phone call.McSally, a former Air Force A-10 pilot, also met with Barrett on May 16 regarding the Air Force secretary job.
Meanwhile, there are growing Democrat calls for impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump, after a former White House counsel failed to appear before Congress despite a subpoena.
Naija News learnt that the united states House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has scheduled a party meeting later today to discuss impeachment.
