Some residents of Kano State on Saturday, took to the streets to celebrate an anticipated victory in the governorship and state assembly elections.
The people, suspected to be supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate in the state Abba Kabir, chanted on the streets till late in the night.
They were heard chanting ‘Ganduje Barawo Dollar‘ meaning ‘Ganduje Dollar Thief‘ in obvious reference to an allegation against Gov Abdullahi Ganduje in which he was accused of collecting bribes in dollars from contractors in the state.
