1. Court grants Atiku permission to inspect election materials

A three-man panel of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja today has granted the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar access to all the materials that were used during the presidential elections.

The decision was made after the panel heard the ex-parte motion filed by Atiku Abubakar, seeking an order granting them access to inspect the electoral materials used for the February 23 polls.

2. Lagos Decides: Agbaje reacts to reports of stepping down

The Lagos State Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Jimi Agbaje, has denied stepping down for anybody.

In a statement, on Wednesday, by his Director of Media and Publicity, Felix Oboagwina, Agbaje stated that he is still very much in the race.

3. I’ll be more hardworking during my second term – President Buhari

Following the renewal of his tenure, President Muhammadu Buhari has pledged to work harder to consolidate on providing security, improving the economy, creating jobs, fighting corruption and upgrading infrastructure.

Naija News reports the President was speaking at the State House, Abuja on Wednesday when he received the leadership of the Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, on a courtesy visit.

4. Agbakoba finally supports Atiku’s decision to challenge President Buhari in court

A Nigerian senior lawyer, Olisa Agbakoba who had earlier adviced the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar not to go to court has backtracked his decision.

Naija News reports that the well known legal luminary while explaining the reason for his previous statement said his earlier advice to the former vice-president not to go to court was because of the “uphill task” he would face following the suspension of Walter Onnoghen as Chief Justice of Nigeria.

5. Court disqualifies Taraba APC governorship candidate

A Federal High Court sitting in Jalingo, the Taraba state capital has on Wednesday disqualified the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sani Danladi from participating in the upcoming 2019 governorship election in the state.

Danladi was disqualified from participating in the election over an improper declaration of age.

6. Many injured as Akwa Ibom APC rally turns violent

Many have been feared injured as sudden gunshots ravaged the campaign ground of the All Progressives Congress (APC) along Edet Akpan Avenue, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

A Keke (tricycle) rider who witnessed the incident said he saw three armed men alight from a Toyota Hilux parked across the road, opposite the campaign ground popularly known as Nsima Ekere campaign ground.

7. Atiku speaks on the go fund me account set up for him

The People’s Democratic Party’s presidential candidate for the 2019 election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has reacted to the GoFundMe account set up in support of his legal intentions.

Atiku’s spokesman, Paul Ibe, however, said his boss is unaware of the accounts but is not however against it if people voluntarily feel they want to make a contribution in defence of democracy.

8. Buratai Reveals plan by some politicians to bomb places on election day

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, has said plans by some wicked politicians to disrupt the March 9 elections with violence, including plans to bomb some areas have been uncovered by the force.

This Buratai said on Wednesday while meeting with Principal Staff Officers (PSOs), General Officers Commanding (GOC), Operational Commanders and Directors of the military at the Army Headquarters in Abuja.

9. Court disqualifies all APC candidates in Cross River

A High Court in Calabar on Tuesday confirmed the removal of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates for the election in Cross River State.

The High Court presided over by Justice Eyo Ita in a suit brought before it by an aggrieved APC governorship aspirant, Ukpan Odey, said since the reliefs sought by the plaintiff were the same as that which a Federal High Court had already ruled on, it could not rule on them again.

10. Man-U eliminates PSG from champions league
