Kano Governorship Election: Supplementary Election Will Determine The Credibility Of INEC – Kwankwaso

Ahead of the supplementary election in Kano State, the former Governor of the State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has stated that the election will determine the credibility of the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Kwankwaso stated this during an interview with BBC Hausa service and the News Agency of Nigeria.

“The INEC’s credibility or otherwise will be assessed by the way and manner it will conduct the Kano State re-run election come March 23″, he said.

The supplementary elections in the state is expected to take place in 234 polling units, in more than 88 registration areas (wards) of 30 local government areas.

The reason for the election is to make up for the 141,694 cancelled votes by INEC in the Governorship and State House of Assembly elections in the state.

Naija News recalls Kano state was among the five other states that its governorship election was declared inconclusive.

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party had scored 1,014,474 votes against the All Progressives Congress (APC) which scored 987,819 votes.
