INEC Suspends Collation Of Guber Election Results In Kano

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has suspended the collation of gubernatorial election results for the Saturday’s Governorship election in Kano state.

Naija News reports that the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the state, Prof. Riskuwa Arab-Shehu made this known after the collation of results from the 43 out of the 44 local government areas in the state.

Arab-Shehu revealed that the suspension of the collation of results was necessary because of the reports of the security challenges in the state.

The security challenge is reportedly from the local government whose result is yet to be announced by INEC in the governorship elections results.

This is coming in the wake of Monday, March 11 after Naija News had reported that INEC had declared March 9 Governorship election in Sokoto state inconclusive.

The electoral umpire said the decision was because 75, 403 votes were cancelled which were higher than 3, 413 margin difference.
