Gunmen Attack Corp Members, Leave Them In Critical Condition

An attack by some suspected gunmen in Isiokolo has left three National Youth Service Corps members serving at Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State in critical condition.

According to reports they were attacked by the gunmen while on their way to their lodge.

The corp members were rushed to a private hospital by members of the Isiokolo local vigilante outfit after they were shot by the gunmen.

A report had it that they were dispossessed of their phones, cash and other items.

The Chairman Ethiope East Council, Chief Faith Majemite, while confirming the incident stated that the perpetrators will be brought to book.

Majemite called on the security operatives in the area to swing into action and arrest the perpetrators of the devilish act.

She stated this during a condolence visit to the victims, at the hospital.

She said: “I have asked the medical doctors on duty to ensure that the corps members get the best medical attention as the council will be handling all their medical bills.

“I want to also assure residents of the council that the security agencies have been placed on their toes towards ensuring that the culprits are arrested and brought to book.”
