NSCDC Deploys 3,000 Personnel To Delta

The Delta state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has deployed over 3,000 personnel to the state for the Saturday’s Presidential and National Assembly elections.

Naija News reports that the command has trained over 3,000 officers for the purpose of maximum safety throughout the elections.

The state Commandant of the corps, Benito Eze, disclosed this to newsmen on Thursday in Asaba, the Delta state capital where he said that the corps was in partnership with other security agencies to ensure a peaceful election.

The NSCDC in the state assured electorates within the state that the command was ready to swiftly respond to distress or emergency calls before, during and after the elections.

Speaking on the safety of those living in the riverine areas of the state, Eze said that the marine unit of the corp is dedicated to handling that area.

In a similar vein, the NSCDC in a report obtained by Naija News added that the corp had deployed some speed boats to patrol the coastal areas throughout the cause of the elections.
