The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, says with or without a trip to the United States, he will dislodge President Muhammadu Buhari, his main rival, in next month’s election. Naija News reports that Abubakar made this comment in a statement which Phrank Shaibu, his special assistant on public communication, issued on his behalf on Thursday.

2. Buhari Reveals What Will Happen To Assets Seized From ‘Corrupt’ Politicians

Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari says houses, companies and other property seized from “corrupt” politicians would be sold and the money kept in the treasury. Naija News reports that President Buhari made this comment in Kaduna during the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign rally on Friday, January 18.

The People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has called on the Federal government to come up with evidence to prove that he was a beneficiary of the N156m slush fund that allegedly wracked the defunct Platinum Habib Bank. The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has said it is aware of plans by the federal government to arrest Walter Onnoghen, chief justice of Nigeria (CJN). Ikenga Ugochinyere, spokesman of the group, made the allegation at a press conference in Abuja today.

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, says his mission in the United States is to create the right economic atmosphere for American investments to return to Nigeria at a rate and quantum that the country had before the “current Nigerian administration’s policies almost halted the flow of Foreign Direct Investments to Nigeria”. Burial for late Ex-Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), retired Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh will take place on Jan. 23 at the National Military Cemetery in Abuja. According to a statement by Brig.-Gen John Agim, the Acting Director Defence Information, DDI, the remains of late CDS will be committed to mother earth at 12.30 p. m. after a Church Service.

7. PDP Dares Buhari Over Threats To Arrest Atiku

The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organization (PPCO), on Friday, described the threat by the Federal government to arrest the presidential candidate of the PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. The Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, had, in a media briefing in Abuja on Friday, revealed the likelihood that Atiku Abubakar might be arrested on his return back to Nigeria.

Nigeria‘s Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has expressed dismay and utter disgust over “another round of spurious allegations” by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, accusing him of ‘the plot to destroy the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen.’ A statement issued by Amaechi’s media office and sent to Naija News quoted Wike to have made this statement at a campaign rally in the State on Thursday.

Popular Nigerian singer and music producer, Augustine Kelechi, a.k.a. Tekno, has released his first official single for 2019, titled ‘woman’. Tekno, took to his official Twitter handle on Friday to announce the drop of the new song which praises women.

10. Jose Mourinho Reveals Next Step After Manchester United Sacking

Former Manchester United head coach, Jose Mourinho has after his sack by the English premier league club, claimed that he is “too young” to retire. Naija News recalls that Mourinho was sacked by United in December 2018, following a string of poor results by the team and reports of discord within the team’s dressing room.
