The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Imohimi Edgal, has been redeployed by the police authorities.
Naija News learned that Edgal who replaced Fatai Owoseni (now retired) in August 2017, was redeployed to the Force Headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
This online news platform understands that Edgal will take over as the Commissioner of Police in charge of Explosive Ordinance Unit.
Similarly, Kayode Egbetokun was directed by the police authorities to take over from Edgal as Acting Police Commissioner in the southwest state.
Edgal assumed office as Lagos CP on August 31, 2017, replacing Fatai, who was then commissioner in the state.
Before then, he was the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations in Lagos State.
Edgal’s promotion in 2017 came after he led the operation that led to the stoppage of the activities of the dreaded Badoo cult in Ikorodu area of Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria.
The operation also led to the arrest of the Baale of Ipakodo in Ikorodu following the gruesome murder of four family members at Ibeshe, Ikorodu, Lagos.
