The Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has pointed out that the strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, is justified.
The Senator made the statement on his Twitter handle while reacting to the indefinite strike embarked upon by the union.
Naija News recalls National President of ASUP, Usman Dutse said the strike had become necessary because the Federal Government had failed to meet the demands of the polytechnic lecturers.
He added that the strike would be total and indefinite until government meet their demands.
The strike embarked upon by the polytechnic lecturers under ASUP is justified.The demands of the lecturers are reasonable and rational.The FG should honour the agreement reached.Incessant strikes results from incessant breaches.

Senator Sani said, “The strike embarked upon by the polytechnic lecturers under ASUP is justified.”
He further stated that the demands placed forward by the lecturers are reasonable, adding that persistent strikes in the country are caused by breaches of agreements met between the government and the unions.
“The demands of the lecturers are reasonable and rational. Incessant strikes results from incessant breaches,” he said.
The Senator called on the Nigerian government to respect and honour agreements between it and labour unions.
“The Federal Government should honour the agreement reached,” he stressed.
