Arsenal has confirmed that its player, Danny Welbeck, has undergone a second planned surgery on his broken right ankle.
Welbeck suffered the injury during the Gunners match against Sporting CP in the Europa League, he was reported to have undergone his first operation of Friday.
Manager Unai Emery confirmed after the 1-1 draw with Wolves, that Welbeck had indeed suffered an injury.
The Gunners have now confirmed that the England forward has had a second procedure and that his rehabilitation will start immediately.
“Both procedures went well, without complications.
“Danny will now recuperate and start his rehabilitation. It’s too early to say how long this will take,” a statement on Arsenal’s website said.
Welbeck before suffering injury had scored five goals in 14 appearances.
