Man wakes up to find his car stripped naked, tyres, side mirrors all stolen (PHOTOS)

How does one spell doom for an average Nigerian these days? Strip his car naked of important parts and have him question God on different levels of sanity.

The recent experience of a Twitter user identified as Makemetola is laughable but yet is common in several corners of Lagos.

According to Makemetola who was a victim of petty thieves recently, he parked his Toyota Highlander at a spot all night, only to wake up to several parts of the vehicle missing.

Apparently, the frustrated robbers couldn't take the car and made away with parts of it instead, in clear hope to sell it to customers looking to fix their cars.

Interestingly, the victim heard some robbers were caught by the police with car parts in Surulere and he expressed joy that they might have been the ones who made away with his tyres, side mirrors and several other parts of his SUV.

While the young man might be grateful they didn't steal his car, it's still mind bogging that anyone would opt to steal mere car parts just to get money off it.

It says a lot about the desperation of car thieves these days and says even more about how having very good car security is not enough to protect your car from theft.

It will no doubt cost a lot to replace the car parts and most likely make the victim paranoid about where he parks his car from now on.
